Ken Smith - Pilot
Ken Smith (1922-2003) was the Tenmenbak's pilot.
Chet Rudell - Co-Pilot
Chet Rudell (1918-1986), an experienced copilot, was paired with Ken Smith for this mission. He was the only crewmember of the Tenmenbak who had previously flown into battle. Chet was paralyzed while bailing out of the Liberator and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair.
Frank Hokr - Navigator
Frank Hokr was the navigator on the Tenmenbak.
Harry Edmiston - Bombardier
Harry Edminston (1923-86) was the bombardier on the flight.
Edwin Burkhardt - Nose Gunner
Ed Burkhardt was the only member of the Tenmenbak's crew to avoid capture.
Bob Trumphy - Upper Gunner
Bob Trumphy, 1924-2010, was the upper turret gunner on the Tenmenbak.
Homer Hymbaugh - Engineer
Homer Hymbaugh was the engineer on the Tenmenbak. Bob Trumpy remembers Homer as a "wonderful man who could fix just about anything."
Charlie Foss - Radio Operator
Charlie Foss was the radio operator on the Tenmenbak. He lost an arm during the attack.
Roland Morrin - Sperry Ball Gunner
Roland Morrin 1922-1944 was the only member of the Tenmenbak's crew to die in battle.
Urban Granger - Tail Gunner
Urban "Bud" Granger (1918-1982) was the tail gunner on the flight.
Ed Chojnowski- replacement co-pilot
Ed Chojnowski originally trained with the Tenmenbak crew, but he did not make the flight in 1944. He was replaced by Chet Rudell for that flight.
